Why shipping needed this.
Shipping quotes were built for freight desks: weight tiers, dimensional weight, fuel surcharges, zone maps. A ceramicist in Dartmouth doesn’t need a rate card — they need to tell a customer what delivery costs before the sale, and have it be true. So we removed the card. What’s left is a number small enough to remember and honest enough to print on a product page.

Thousands of small businesses ship as one
Alone, a seller mailing thirty parcels a month has no leverage. Together, the pool moves more than ten thousand parcels a day.

The volume is bought as bulk capacity
One negotiation, one blended rate, carried on the Canada Post network — the carriers who already reach every postal code in the country.

Everyone pays the average
One price, $10, set so the pool covers itself. The envelope subsidises the 5 kg box; the short trip subsidises the long one.
We don’t run trucks.
Woosh is a small team in Toronto. Delivery runs on the Canada Post network — every parcel ships Xpresspost™ with tracking included. We changed the price, not the delivery.
